Dave Wolin, retired professional race car driver, will present his research on the history of Kern County motorsports. His talk will begin with Barney Oldfield setting a world speed record in Bakersfield in 1913, and continue through the early days of dry lakes racing at places like Muroc, drag racing in Maricopa, and sports car racing in Shafter. Please join us on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00pm at the Kern County Museum at 3801 Chester Avenue. Admission is free for Museum members, $10 for adults, and $5 for children.
