Kylie grew up with her grandparents for the first eight years of her life. This is where she was first influenced by country music. She then moved in with her dad, stepmom, and siblings. Kylie’s mom hasn’t been a part of her life since she was four years old, but she’s managed to take that hurt and turn it into inspiration to strive to do the best she can in everything. Kylie has been singing since she was just a toddler, and turned to lessons when she was ten years old to start pursuing her singing career.
Since then Kylie has continued to get more serious about her career by competing in local and national singing competitions. This includes auditioning for shows like “American Idol” and “The Voice,” as well as joining WCCMA (West Coast Country Music Association) and NACMAI (North American Country Music Association Int.) in their annual singing competitions hosted in Temecula, CA and Nashville, TN. She has so far taken home Traditional Country Vocalist & Entertainer of the Year, two time New Country Songwriter of the Year, New Gospel Vocalist & Entertainer of the Year, along with multiple other awards placing top 5 in New Country. Alongside competitions, Kylie has performed shows across Southern California and also had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for the Los Angeles Angels in May 2018.
Kylie has now aimed her focus on songwriting and putting her own spin on country music. She says she wants to “put out songs everyone can relate to on personal levels” and “create music that portrays her own style, instead of being the same as everyone else”.
Kylie loves spending time with friends, family, and her dogs. Other than music, animals have always been another passion of hers, especially dogs! Even though she does love her phone, Kylie admits she would much rather be outside having fun and living life. She loves going fishing and wakeboarding at the river with her family and taking their rhino off-roading. If it wasn’t for singing, she says these would have to be her favorite things in the world! Kylie Trout is definitely your all American country girl at heart.
